Cruise Village opinion.
The new (opened November 2009) Swiss-Belhotel is the perfect stay for a 1 night pre or post cruise stay in Dubai. It is ideal for those who want to jump on or off the cruise ship straight to the hotel. In fact you can see the port from many of the hotels windows.
One thing that this hotel does have is an amazing Themed Restaurant called - Kebab Connection..!!
Here you have a choice of 150 different types of Kebab, all freshly prepared at a Live Cooking Station. Apparently, the Byriani is a speciality but unfortunately I did not have time to eat here. Maybe next time..!!
During the week, the hotel has speciality dining evenings and the approximate charge for these is between 70-105 Dirhams including alcohol, which make for a great value evening.
I arrived very late evening and my transfer time from Dubai International was 15 minutes, but this will increase during the working week when traffic is at its peak.
The Siwss-Belhotel has 184 guest rooms and suites which embrace a modern classic design. The hotels description of the rooms I visited is quite correct. Each guest room is decorated using neutral & muted hues of cream, green, and silver with contrasting dark oak timber accents. Crisp white bed linen is accented with richly colored bed runners. While a bright red designer armchair and foot stool add a special ‘pop' of color drawing all design elements together effortlessly. The bathrooms are beautifully designed using cream marble, black granite vanity tops (offering plenty of space for personal toiletries), ceramic flooring, full size bath tub, and glass encased rainforest style shower. In addition, all bathrooms feature hand-held bidets, shaving mirrors, phone and sound system.
